The method involves evaluating data from the surroundings by a motor vehicle (1) and forwarding the data to a mobile terminal (5) of a vehicle user. The motor vehicle determines conditions for a driving with an opened top or an opened sunroof from received or discretely determined surrounding data. The information is outputted to the terminal of the vehicle user on existence of the conditions. The determined surrounding data of the motor vehicle is compared with a user profile. An independent claim is included for a motor vehicle with a device for communication with a vehicle user.
