The pressing device comprises a press roll (1), which has a flexible casing (3) extending around a stationary support body (6). The flexible casing is pressed on an impression roller (2) by one or multiple hydraulic pressing elements (4), which support on the support body. A tank (7a,7b,7c) is provided for receiving the hydraulic and lubricating oil that is provided for the pressing elements and for lubricating the casing. The tank is arranged inside the casing of the press roll. The press roll is designed as shoe press roll, which has a press shoe (5).
