A driving circuit for an FSC mode LCD and a driving method thereof are provided to perform communication through a high speed communication interface with respect to control data having a low transmission frequency and a large amount of data and perform communication through a low speed communication interface with respect to control data having a big transmission frequency and a small amount of data, thereby reducing power consumption. A driving circuit for an FSC(Field Sequential Color) mode LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) comprises a timing controller(100) and an LED(Light Emitting Diode) driver(200). The timing controller comprises the following parts. A control data generator(110) generates current control data for setting a current value applied to each of plural LEDs, and on/off timing control data for controlling on/off timing of each of the plural LEDs. A first transmission module(120) outputs the current control data to an external circuit. A second transmission module(130) outputs the on/off timing control data to an external circuit. The LED driver comprises the following parts. A first receiving module(210) receives the current control data. A second receiving module(220) receives the on/off timing control data. An LED light emission controller(230) performs current supply and on/off timing control with respect to each of the plural LEDs according to the current control data and the on/off timing control data. |
