PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a modified polyolefin particles in high yield, while keeping good physical properties and functions, by carrying out the purification and granulation at the same time without using an aromatic solvent. SOLUTION: The method for producing modified polyolefin particles having an average particle diameter of 0.1-5 mm comprises mixing a molten carboxyl-modified polyolefin (A) having a neutralization degree of ≤0.3 equivalent with at least water to prepare a suspension of the modified polyolefin and the removal of water from the suspension. A suspension of particles having an average particle diameter of 0.1-5 mm can be produced according to the method of the present invention by mixing the modified polyolefin with water and stirring the mixture, and unreacted unsaturated carboxylic acid or a water-soluble by-product derived from unsaturated carboxylic acids and generated by the modification process can be removed by filtering the water from the suspension to obtain a modified polyolefin particle having improved color. Modified polyolefin particles keeping good physical properties and functions can be produced by the method of the present invention without using an aromatic solvent. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
