The dowel has a wedge (2) resting on a spine (3) of a dowel body (1), and fastened to an end surface (5) of the dowel body by an adhesive band (4). The wedge is locked by a bracket against twist on the dowel body, where the bracket extends over ends of the wedge and the dowel body. The dowel body comprises an external thread towards a bore hole, or an internal thread or a head for supporting a part to be fastened. Diameter of the wedge together with a part of the dowel body yields a large diameter than the bore hole.
