PURPOSE: An error detection method of a dynamic braking resistor (DBR) unit and a recording medium thereof are provided to easily determine the failure of components. CONSTITUTION: A control unit determines whether or not a pulse signal for turn-on operation of a chopper included in a DBR unit is applied (510). The control unit determines whether or not a current measurement value received from a current sensor included in the DBR unit corresponds to a predetermined proper value when the pulse signal is applied (520). When the current measurement value does not correspond to the predetermined proper value (530), the control unit generates first error type information (540). The control unit generates second error type information when it is determined that a current exceeding the predetermined proper value flows (550).
