PURPOSE: A gas wiping apparatus for hot dip is provided to imbibe vortices and minute zinc particles generated by the wiping of high pressure gas through an inlet of a main wiping body to prevent the surface defects with a check pattern. CONSTITUTION: A gas wiping apparatus for hot dip comprises a wiping main body(100), a nozzle unit, an inlet, a suction unit(300), a sound-absorbing material, a shutter, and a drive motor. The wiping main body has a lip part on a leading end. A nozzle unit mounted in the wiping main body sprays a high pressure gas through the lip part on the wiping main body. The inlet is formed on the lip part of the wiping main body. The suction unit is connected for communication with the inlet to imbibe floating particles caused by the high pressure injection. The sound-absorbing material is mounted on the lip part of the wiping main body to absorb acoustic frequency generated by the jet of the high pressure gas. The shutter is installed to be movable along the inlet. The drive motor is connected movably to the shutter for a selective opening and closing of the inlet. |
