<p>Disclosed is a clip (16) suitable to removably assemble a bathtub (14) or shower stall base to a shower enclosure surround wall. The clip (16) includes a toe (24), a leg connected to the toe (24), a web (28) connected to the leg, and a flexible tang (26) also connected to the web (28). The web (28) is designed to mount the clip (16) on the bathtub (14) or stall base, while the toe (24) catches under a ledge of the bathtub (14) or stall base. The tang (26) will then project at an angle inwardly. The tang (26) permits the surround wall to pass vertically downward past it to assemble the enclosure. It resists upward movement until a specified force is applied, at which point the clip (16) deforms or breaks to permit disassembly. The clip (16) also has a portion of the web (28) which facilitates keeping the clip (16) on the bathtub (14) or stall base even after the clip (16) has been deformed or partially broken.</p> |
