PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery lid attaching/detaching mechanism that can easily attach and detach a battery lid to and from a main body of a portable electronic device, and a portable electronic device using the same.SOLUTION: A battery lid attaching/detaching mechanism presses a battery lid away from a main body of a portable electronic device, and a push button is mounted on the main body. The battery lid attaching/detaching mechanism includes a release member, a propulsion member, a first elastic member, and a second elastic member. The release member includes a main portion provided with a through hole and an opening communicating with each other, and a pressure receiving portion which is projected on a side face of the main portion and positioned opposite a press portion of the push button. The propulsion member includes a positioning portion and a propulsion pin projecting vertically from the positioning portion. When the push button is pressed, the press portion presses the pressure receiving portion of the release member and moves the release member toward the first elastic member, and further separates the positioning portion from the opening, and consequently the second elastic member releases elastic force and drives the propulsion pin to press the battery lid away from the main body. |
