PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive of an air conditioner which makes a DC voltage applied to an inverter variable according to the rotation speed of a motor, so that the DC voltage does not vary during operation of the inverter, and to provide a power converter.SOLUTION: In a power supply configuration for supplying power to a motor 9 by a rectification circuit/smoothing circuit 5 connected with an AC input power supply 3, first and second AC reactors 13, 15 are interposed in series between the AC input power supply 3 and the rectification circuit/smoothing circuit 5, and switching means 17 is connected in parallel with the second AC reactor 15. Target rotation speed setting means 21b acquires a large temperature difference between a room temperature and a set temperature, and determines a target rotation speed set value corresponding to the large temperature difference from a table 22, and reactance variable means 21c rises a DC voltage Vc applied to an inverter 7, by turning on the switching means 17 on the basis of the target rotation speed set value during stoppage of the inverter 7. |
