PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium characteristic detecting device capable of changing detecting accuracy and detecting timing when necessary.SOLUTION: A recording medium characteristic detecting device 2245 includes a first light sensor device for irradiating light to one recording medium positioned on one end on the predetermined direction among a plurality of recording media superposed in the predetermined direction and receiving the reflected light, and a second light sensor device for irradiating the light to a part of non-overlapping with the other recording medium in one recording medium in the middle of being taken out or having been taken out and receiving the reflected light. |
