PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for allowing the degree of deterioration of a universal joint to be quantitatively estimated.SOLUTION: With a universal joint 5 as a system of coupled oscillation comprising a driving shaft 1, a spring 6, a rolling element 4, the spring 6, an intermediate element 2, the spring 6, the rolling element 4, the spring 6, and a driven shaft 3, its specific frequency in the rotation direction is obtained, vibration and/or acoustic generated by the rotating universal joint is detected, frequency analyses are performed, and a deterioration state is determined according to the magnitude of the peak value of a specific vibration component. |
