PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embroidery data creating device for creating embroidery data capable of forming stitches to which a texture unique to embroidery is naturally added while effectively expressing the features of an original image.SOLUTION: An original image used as a base of an embroidery pattern is input (S1), and a set angle characteristic, which is taken into account with respect to a second pixel having an angle characteristic intensity less than a predetermined threshold value among a plurality of pixels forming the original image, is acquired (S3). For each of all the pixels, on the basis of image data of the original image, an angle characteristic and an intensity thereof are calculated (S5), and each first pixel having an intensity equal to or more than the threshold value and each second pixel having an intensity less than the threshold value are identified (S7). For each second pixel, an angle characteristic, taking into account the angle characteristics of surrounding pixels, is re-calculated (S9), and a final angle characteristic is calculated from the re-calculated angle characteristic and the set angle characteristic (S11). In the order of each first pixel and each second pixel, corresponding line segments are arranged on the basis of the calculated angle characteristics (S13), and embroidery data is created (S19). |
