PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic device that allows a user to easily check and search plural tabs while maintaining a display state of a main panel, and a control method for the portable electronic device.SOLUTION: A portable electronic device includes a display unit that also serves as a touch operation input unit, and a display control unit that outputs images to be displayed on the display unit. The display control unit includes a standby state output unit and a switching control unit. The standby state output unit displays at least one of the images as a first image and displays a second image having plural tabs arranged therein in an area differing from a portion of the first image, on the display unit. When a swipe operation is performed in the display area of the second image, the switching control unit scrolls the plural tabs with the first image maintained as the top image. |
