PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which: a photographer is required to store to a memory in advance an image of a main subject such as an infant to which the photographer does not desire to radiate illumination light of a flash illumination device before taking an image of the subject.SOLUTION: An imaging device includes: an imaging unit; an analysis unit that analyzes the size of a face part of a person being a subject photographed by the imaging unit; an acquisition unit that acquires a distance from the imaging device to the person; and a light-emission control unit that controls light emission of an irradiation unit that irradiates the subject when the size of the face part is below a pre-set reference size to the obtained distance.
