PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for regenerating cerium oxide abrasives, capable of efficiently separating, recovering and regenerating hydrated Si adhered to the surfaces of the cerium oxide abrasives from the cerium oxide abrasives which are materials essential as high-quality and highly efficient abrasives in free abrasive polishing for glass and quartz.SOLUTION: A method for regenerating cerium oxide abrasives includes: a first step of bringing abrasives into physical contact or collision with each other by performing any one of high-speed stirring, bubbling, ultrasonic vibration and high-pressure jetting for slurry which includes soiled abrasives with hydrated Si adhered to the surfaces of used cerium oxide abrasives, and is stored in a separation/precipitation storage tank; and a second process for sorting the hydrated Si floating after the separation in the first step and regenerated abrasives. |
