PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is capable of preventing waste of lubricant to be applied to an image carrier.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a rotatable photoreceptor drum 1413 (an image carrier); lubricant 183; an application brush 182 which scrapes off the lubricant 183 and applies fine powder of the lubricant 183 which is scraped off to the photoreceptor drum 1413 by rotating while being in contact with the photoreceptor drum 1413 and the lubricant 183; a collection part 190 which collects the fine powder 186 of the lubricant 183 which flies off when the application bruch 182 scrapes off the lubricant 183; a supply part 191 which supplies the fine powder 186 collected by the collection part 190 to the application brush 182; and a control part 200 wich controls the supply part 191. Thus, the fine powder 186 which flies off when the application brush 182 scrapes off the lubricant 183 is used as supplement when the application brush 182 applies the lubricant 183 to the photoreceptor drum 1413. |
