摘要 <p>PURPOSE: A composition for controlling drug release is provided to maintain sustained release of a conventional matrix structure and to prevent rapid release of a drug caused by degradation of the drug by introducing a carbomer with a sol-gel converting property. CONSTITUTION: A composition for controlling drug release contains 100 parts by weight of sustained release polymers, 5-10 parts by weight of a carbomer, 10-200 parts by weight of a solubilizing agent, and 30-70 parts by weight of a disintegrant. The sustained release polymers are hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC), hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), carbopol, polyethylene oxide, or a copolymer or a mixture thereof. The viscosity of the sustained release polymers is 50,000-150,000 cps. The solubilizing agent is selected among sodium lauryl sulfate, labrafil, labrasol, Tween 60, and a mixture thereof.
