PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spring for a scissors gear and a manufacturing method thereof capable of eliminating wasteful materials and achieving manufacturing cost reduction.SOLUTION: Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a spring for a scissors gear which is arranged between a main gear 20 and a sub gear 30 of a scissors gear 10 with one end part engaged with a first pin 29 and the other end part engaged with a second pin 33 and which rotates and biases the main gear 20 and the sub gear 30 in a direction in which a first pin 29 and a second pin 33 come close to each other. The method includes a wire rod forming step of forming a spring wire rod S from a spring material, a bending step of bending the spring wire rod S in an arc shape, and a press step of forming engagement recess parts 47 and 48 with which the first pin 29 or the second pin 33 engages by performing press shearing on parts which form both ends of a spring 40 of the wire rod S. |
