PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for converting reciprocating motion with no constant amplitude into rotation motion, the mechanism being capable of converting irregular reciprocating motion due to oscillation such as waves of sea surface or irregular reciprocating motion of human power into one-way rotation motion unlike a conventional crank mechanism which has an upper dead point and a lower dead point and allows conversion to rotation motion only from reciprocating motion of same stroke, where forward stroke and return stroke reach both dead points.SOLUTION: On both sides of a reciprocating rod 100 which performs reciprocating motion, a forward rack gear 210 and a return rack gear 220 are provided. A pinion 300 is exclusively engaged with only one of the rack gears 210 and 220. During forward motion of the reciprocating rod 100, the forward rack gear 210 engages with the right side of the pinion 300. During return motion, the return rack gear 220 engages with the right side of the pinion 300. Thus, the pinion 300 performs the same rotation in forward motion and in return motion. |
