PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift range switching device which transmits rotational power generated in an actuator to a switching operation part of a shift range via a detent mechanism for switching to a desired shift range, the shift range selector device being capable of detecting the presence of anomaly when the shift range is switched.SOLUTION: When switching an actuator to a desired shift range, a target rotation amount thereof is set to a predetermined value required for moving to a self-running starting position beyond a mountain preceding a valley, the position serving as a destination for move from a bottom position of the valley with which an engaging part engages at present. When actuator driving is stopped in the course of switching to a desired shift range, the presence or absence of anomaly is determined based on a direction in which an output axis of rotation of the actuator is rotated by a spring power of a detent spring. |
