PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stopping continuous polymerization, capable of stably stopping the continuous polymerization while suppressing a rise of internal temperature of a reaction tank, in production of a polymer by continuous polymerization.SOLUTION: This method for stopping continuous polymerization includes: stopping the supply of the polymerization initiator to the reaction tank while continuing the stirring within the reaction tank and the extraction of the polymer composition from the reaction tank to the outside, in a continuous polymerization in which a monomer is polymerized in a reaction tank by continuously supplying the monomer and a polymerization initiator to the reaction tank, and a resulting polymer composition is continuously extracted from the reaction tank; and continuously supplying a monomer-containing raw material which has a dissolved oxygen level of 0-5 ppm into the reaction tank at a flow rate of 1/500 to 1/10 of the flow rate of the raw material during polymerization reaction. |
