PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire an image with higher resolution feeling while reducing the generation of moire and false color when a color reduced image is created.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises: a pixel unit including a plurality of pixels for converting incident light into electric signals, which is arranged in a matrix; a plurality of types of color filters; and a signal output unit. Each of the plurality of types of color filters transmits light of a different color component, and is arranged in a pixel in accordance with a predetermined color arrangement. The signal output unit reads an electric signal from the pixel unit by adding and thinning to create an image signal of a reduced image. The signal output unit sets a reading unit including a plurality of sampling points of the reduced image when adding and thinning, and also creates a plurality of image signals more than the number of the sampling points included in the reading unit per reading unit. |
