PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system which can promote drainage of water in a power generation area on an anode side even when the wet state of an electrolyte membrane becomes high (wetted) by generated water which is generated by power generation reaction during continuous pulsating operation.SOLUTION: A fuel cell system comprises: a fuel cell 100 which supplies fuel gas to an anode and an oxidant gas to a cathode to generate electricity according to a load; a pressure adjustment valve 300 installed in a supply passage used to supply fuel gas to the fuel cell; and a purge valve 500 installed in an exhaust passage used to discharge anode off-gas containing impurities from the fuel cell. In the fuel cell system, an anode pressure control unit 600 is included which controls the adjustment valve so that the anode gas pressure in a fuel cell stack will pulsate. When the wet state of an electrolyte membrane in the fuel cell stack is higher than when it is low, the center pressure of pulsation is lowered. |
