PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wind power generation system which includes a windmill power generation mechanism and a charging/discharging device, smoothes output to a system by electric power transmission of windmill power generation output to the charging/discharging device and output from the charging/discharging device to the system, the wind power generation system being capable of stably smoothing the output to the system without increasing capacity of the charging/discharging device.SOLUTION: A wind power generation system includes a windmill power generation mechanism and a charging/discharging device and smoothes output to a system by electric power transmission of windmill power generation output to the charging/discharging device and output from the charging/discharging device to the system. The wind power generation system includes a pumped-storage power generation mechanism and selectively performs pumping-up by the pumped-storage power generation mechanism to which power is supplied from the charging/discharging device, water power generation by the pumped-storage power generation mechanism utilizing a pumping-up drop and power transmission of water power generation output to the charging/discharging device at a relatively short predetermined time pitch of several tens seconds to several minutes, and the selection is performed based on a windmill power generation output average value at an adjacent pitch and a charging/discharging device power storage amount at an adjacent pitch ending time point. |
