PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance reliability of detection of dirt attached to a lens for a surgery camera.SOLUTION: A surgery camera using a lens dirt detection method includes: an imaging section 16 having a lens; a lens driving section 17 for rotating the lens of the imaging section 16; a lens dirt detection section 19 that detects dirt attached to the lens of the imaging section 16 by analyzing image information before and after rotating the lens by controlling the lens driving section 17; and a display control section 18 that displays an image signal from the imaging section 16 and, when the lens dirt detection section 19 detects the dirt on the lens, indicates it to a user.
