PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maximize performance improvement by combining a jet engine and an electric motor with a gas turbine of the jet engine as a uniaxial gas turbine.SOLUTION: A turboprop or turbofan type jet engine having a gas turbine and a propeller or fan to be rotated by the gas turbine includes a clutch selectively decoupling an axis of rotation of the gas turbine from the propeller or fan and an electric motor acting on the axis of rotation of the gas turbine in the gas turbine side rather than the clutch.
