The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition, comprising 3±-hydroxy-3²-methoxymethyl-21-(1'-imidazolyl)-5a-pregnan-20-one or a pharmaceutically-acceptable salt or solvate thereof, and one or more pharmaceutically-acceptable excipients, wherein the composition provides steady state plasma levels of 3±-hydroxy-3²-methoxymethyl-21-(1'-imidazolyl)-5±-pregnan-20-one in a range of from 5 ng/mL to 500 ng/mL for a duration of from 6 h to 24 h following administration.
