PURPOSE: A grinding chip recovery system and a recovering method are provided to recycle a grinding chip in order to use as a supplementary raw material of a steelmaking process. CONSTITUTION: A grinding chip recovery system comprises a magnetic roller(111), an elastic roller(113), a scraper(115), a washing tub(120), a pump(127), and a centrifuge(130). The magnetic roller separates a grinding chip, generated in the middle of a grinding process of a roller, with magnetic force. The elastic roller compresses the grinding chip with the magnetic roller. The scraper separates the grinding chip adhered to the magnetic roller by being contacted on surface of the magnetic roller. The washing tub washes the grinding chip which is separated by the scraper with washing water. The pump transfers the washing water with the grinding chip washed in the washing tub.
