PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a multilayer ceramic electronic component; and a method of manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: A multilayer ceramic electronic component includes: a ceramic element body having a plurality of dielectric layers laminated thereon; first and second internal electrodes formed inside the ceramic element body; first and second external electrodes formed on both side surfaces of the ceramic element body so as to cover the circumference thereof and electrically connected to the first and second internal electrodes; and a sealing part containing a glass component and formed in spaces between an external surface of the ceramic element body and end portions of the first and second external electrodes.
