PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator having liquid absorbency that is improved so as to obtain an electrolytic capacitor in which ESR is improved and high capacity is achieved.SOLUTION: In an electrolytic capacitor where an electrolyte is formed by impregnating a capacitor element, formed by winding an anode foil and a cathode foil with a separator interposed therebetween, with a fluid dispersion of conductive polymer fine particles as an electrolyte and then drying the capacitor element, a separator composed of one or a plurality of cellulose fiber, recycled cellulose fiber, semisynthetic fiber, and synthetic fiber, and in which liquid absorbency of fluid dispersion of conductive polymer is enhanced by setting the orientation ratio of fiber (tensile strength in the longitudinal direction/tensile strength in the lateral direction) to 2.0 or less is used. |
