The connector (2) has a housing (6) including cavities, and contacts each having a portion received in one of the cavities and another portion projecting beyond a face of the housing. A locking cap (40) locks the connector to a complementary connector (3). The cap is mounted on the housing, and is slid relative to the housing between a locked position and an unlocked position. The cap is projected beyond the face of the housing over a distance greater than another distance between the contacts projected from the face of the housing.
