PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader that changes less in the illuminated state of a document ejecting section during document ejection and after the ejection or regardless of the number of documents stacked on a document ejecting section, and that stably obtains an alarming effect for preventing a document from being left.SOLUTION: An image reader 2 comprises: a document conveyance section 23 configured to convey a document 201 placed on a fed document stacking part 21; an image reading section 24 configured to read an image on the document 201 conveyed by the document conveyance section 23; a document ejecting section 25, arranged right below the fed document stacking section 21, on which documents 201 ejected by the document conveyance section 23 are stacked; and an illumination lamp 26 arranged above the document ejecting section 25 and below the fed document stacking section 21 and configured to illuminate the document ejecting section 25. The illumination lamp 26 is arranged outside a document conveyance path provided for the maximum size, in a direction orthogonal to the direction of document conveyance. |
