PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control timing to start or interrupt activation or reactivation of each unit according to an estimated time of activation completion of a controller.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: an engine control section 9 that controls one or more devices performing mechanical operations; and a controller 50 that is connected to the engine control section and controls processing of the one or more devices regarding image formation. The controller calculates an estimated time of activation completion of the controller. The engine control section calculates an estimated time of activation completion of each of the one or more devices and, from the estimated time of activation completion of the controller and the estimated time of activation completion of each of one or more devices, controls timing to start or interrupt activation or reactivation of each of the one or more devices so that the activation completion of each of the one or more devices is matched or approximated to the activation completion of the controller. |
