PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent stains on an intermediate transfer belt attributed to drops of toner on the intermediate transfer belt, accumulated between a photoreceptor and a cleaning blade, and improve printing quality.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a plurality of photoreceptors provided above an intermediate transfer belt along a driving direction of the intermediate transfer belt; and cleaning blades for removing toner left on the photoreceptors. The image forming apparatus comprises: storage means for storing printing information of a last print at a previous time; and control means for determining, on the basis of the printing information on the last print at the previous time stored by the storage means, and printing information on a first print at this time, whether or not a toner drop when the previous printing is completed affects the first print at this time, and when determining that it does, driving the photoreceptors and the intermediate transfer belt when starting the first print at this time of printing, performing a predetermined delay processing determined by a distance between an uppermost stream photoreceptor of the last print at the previous time, and an uppermost stream photoreceptor of the first print at this time, and starting an image formation thereafter. |
