PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of increasing productivity while maintaining an image quality when a double-sided printing is performed.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 10 includes: a development control portion 50a for performing a color switching control for stopping driving of a developing device 45 for a color not used for printing and starting driving of the developing device 45 stopped from driving; and a conveyance control portion 50b which controls a sheet conveying device 14 at the time of a double-sided printing so as form an image on a first surface of the sheet during a first printing period in the first printing period and the second printing period which are alternately set side by side by the page unit of printing on a time base, and controls an alternate double-sided feeding operation for feeding the sheet so as to form an image on the second surface of the sheet during the second printing period and a non-alternate double-sided feeding operation for feeding the sheet so as to form an image by changing the order of the first printing period and the second printing period. The conveyance control portion 50b selects the faster operation from among the alternate double-sided feeding operation and the non-alternate double-sided feeding operation. |
