PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide calibration processing for an optical sensor in an image reader by simple calibration and control.SOLUTION: The image reader including a calibration function for adjusting a correction value to correct a reading result obtained by an imaging device comprises: a line sensor 13 which includes plural imaging devices; a calibration plate 31 on which plural color patches are formed to be read in the calibration processing by the line sensor and which is provided movably in accordance with the alignment of the imaging devices in the line sensor; and a read control unit 14 which controls the calibration processing using the calibration plate 31.
