PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable displacement vane pump that can eliminate a spring for biasing a cam ring.SOLUTION: A variable displacement vane pump is configured to rock a cam ring. A discharge port 16 is formed so that a difference &thetas;b-&thetas;c between an inclination angle &thetas;b of a starting end line of the discharge port and an inclination angle &thetas;c of a terminal end line of the discharge port is larger than a vane angle &thetas;d. A side in which pressure in a pump chamber 7 acts on a rocking fulcrum C of the cam ring 4 is not changed by the rotational position of a rotor 2.
