PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing highly monodispersed silica for preventing occurrence of coarse particles such as conglutinated particles and aggregated particles and occurrence of small balls of silica even in a condition to prepare a metallic oxide by a sol-gel process in a bulk reaction solution in an amount of ≥50 L.SOLUTION: When silica is synthesized by a sol-gel process using a reaction solution including a hydrolysis catalyst, water, and an organic solvent and using a metal alkoxide solution as a raw material, the raw material metal alkoxide solution is supplied at a discharge linear velocity of 30-1,000 mm/s into the reaction solution while stirring the reaction solution. |
