PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screen printing machine and a screen printing method for enabling imaging operation of a camera unit and cleaning operation of a cleaning head for a mask simultaneously in parallel.SOLUTION: A camera unit 16 for imaging a mask-side mark 15m arranged on a mask 15 and a substrate-side mark 2m arranged on the upper side of a substrate 2 held below the mask 15, moves in a first horizontal moving plane S1 set below the mask 15. A cleaning head 18 which performs cleaning operation for cleaning the lower side of the mask 15, moves independently of the camera unit 16 in a second horizontal moving plane S2 set at a position lower than the mask 15 and is higher than the first horizontal moving surface S1 where the camera unit 16 moves.
