PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit only a wireless terminal positioned in an area where use of a wireless LAN is permitted to connect with the wireless LAN, without requiring complicated operation related to authentication such as password input.SOLUTION: An authentication device to which a wireless terminal and a wireless AP (access point) are connected through a network comprises: reception means for receiving an authentication request including a wireless terminal identifier of the wireless terminal and a reception signal strength value of a wireless wave received from the wireless AP by the wireless terminal, from the wireless terminal through the wireless AP; determination means for determining whether or not the wireless terminal is positioned in an authentication permission area identified based on a reception signal strength threshold by comparing the reception signal strength value and the reception signal strength threshold, when receiving the authentication request; and permission means for permitting the wireless terminal to use a wireless LAN, when it is determined that the wireless terminal is positioned in the authentication permission area. |
