PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a platform door device that can be installed at a platform where railroad vehicles having different number of doors stop.SOLUTION: A platform door device includes a column portion 2 stood at a platform; engaging chains 21 which are housed in a freely foldable state in the column portion 2 while disengaged from each other to branch off, and engage each other into an inflexible state such that the inflexible portion moves out of the column portion 2; a driving mechanism 29 which drives the engaging chains 21 to change the state of the engaging chains 21; and a movable door 3 which is supported by the engaging chains 21, and opens a getting-on/off place 16 by being folded into bellows when disengaged by the driving mechanism 29 and housed in the column portion 2, and closes the getting-on/off place 16 by extending horizontally when engaging each other to move out of the column portion 2. |
