PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress developer removed from a developer holding body from moving to an area where the developer holding body pumps up developer.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus of the present invention comprises: a photoreceptor drum that holds an electrostatic latent image; and a developing roller 6 that develops the electrostatic latent image held by the photoreceptor drum. In a removal area S2 where after the electrostatic latent image held by the photoreceptor drum is developed, developer held by the developing roller 6 is removed from the developing roller 6, a magnetic field is formed so that magnetic flux density in a normal direction of the developing roller 6 becomes higher than magnetic flux density in a tangential direction. |
