PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treatment method for a carbon fiber bundle which has a surface uniformly oxidation-treated, is excellent in dispersibility in a matrix resin, and shows high composite physical properties, and a carbon fiber bundle obtained by using the method.SOLUTION: The surface treatment method for a carbon fiber bundle is characterized in that a carbon fiber bundle passes through a grooved roll which has a groove bottom having a convex shape. It is preferable that the grooved roll has a width of 0.5 to 2.0 times of the width of a fiber bundle introduced in the grooved roll, a protrusion of the groove bottom is formed of a circle having a radius R, and the R is 0.7 to 5.0 times of the width of the groove. It is also preferable that the grooved roll is a grooved roll provided with a nip roll, and that the grooved roll is provided with a mechanism to apply an oxidation medium to a fiber bundle. |
