PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly correct backlight by accurately detecting an area of a backlight state from entire-celestial-sphere (omnidirectional) image data.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus comprises: means 210 for receiving the entire-celestial-sphere image data; means 220 for detecting the position of the sun from the received entire-celestial-sphere image data; means 230 which detects a backlight area from in the entire-celestial-sphere image data on the basis of the detected position of the sun; means 240 for correcting brightness with respect to the detected backlight area; and means 250 for outputting the entire-celestial-sphere image data with corrected brightness. |
