摘要 <p>The invention relates to a process for radioactive decontamination of pit water resulting from the extraction of uranium-bearing ores. According to the invention, the process consists in treating the pit water containing solid suspensions of U and Ra-226 at a pH value of 6.4...6.8, by passing it through a self-cleaning filter of 50μm, then through a series of 5...10 closed columns with ion-exchange resin in fixed bed, at a flow rate of 10 volumes /h, after which the pit water containing less than 0.021 mg U/l are passed, at the same flow rate, through a series of 3...5 closed columns containing active carbon in fixed bed, the resulting water being discharged into a natural water source, while the uranium fixed on the ion-exchange resin is eluted with a solution containing 100 g of NaCl/l and 19 g of sodium carbonate/l and the radium is eluted with a 0.1 N solution of HCl and the eluates are processed separately with a view to rendering U and Ra insoluble and exploiting them in a specialized unit.</p>
