The invention describes a method for mounting a tire onto a related rim and dismounting the tire from the related rim, which comprises an operating head, a corresponding support structure and a first actuator. The first actuator enables the operating head to move relative to the support structure. The operating head comprises a stop element and at least one puller. The stop element may be located in the vicinity of the outer edge of the rim and the at least one puller is movable between the inceptive insertion position between the tire bead and the inner arc surface of the annular edge of the rim and the final withdrawn position on the tire bead outside the rim. The puller is articulated to a lever so as to be articulated to the stop element. Then the puller is further articulated to a cam and is driven to be articulated to the stop element. A second actuator controls the movement of the puller. The second actuator connects the lever and the puller around the hinged part.
