FIELD: radio engineering, communication.SUBSTANCE: method of reducing peak power involves generating a first signal with a first type of modulation and a second signal with a second type of modulation; combining the first and second signals to form a composite input signal, wherein the first signal is in a first frequency band of the composite input signal, the second signal is in a second frequency band of the composite input signal, and the first frequency band differs from the second frequency band; generating a peak level reduction function based on the composite input signal; selecting a portion of the peak level reduction function which corresponds to the first frequency band as the selected portion of the peak level reduction function, and using the selected portion of the peak level reduction function in the first frequency band of the composite input signal to provide a composite output signal with a low peak-to-average power ratio.EFFECT: reducing instantaneous peak-to-average power ratio of the composite signal using various modulation schemes.28 cl, 10 dwg |
