The method involves shutting off a measuring unit from an oxygen concentration detecting cell and an oxygen pump cell when a voltage at one connection point through which the unit is electrically connected to the cells becomes equal to a preset abnormal voltage value. The unit is electrically connected to the cell of a gas sensor (2) to perform an abnormality diagnosis of the gas sensor. An independent claim is also included for an abnormality diagnosis apparatus for a gas concentration measuring device.
