The system has a control level which includes a topology generating element for generating a topology that describes a set of input multimedia streams, one or more input multimedia stream sources, a sequence of operations performed over multimedia data, and a set of output multimedia streams, and a media processor for controlling transmission of multimedia data as described in the topology, and controlling execution of the sequence of multimedia operations over the multimedia data to create a set of output multimedia streams.
